Why does the Helix drink bottle split in the middle?

The dual-opening water bottle solves a few problems. The wide mouth of the water bottle allows you to fit your ice, fruit and other treats. The main advantage is that your bottle can be easily and thoroughly cleaned in the dishwasher - no need for a water bottle brush. Of course, the bottle also converts from a bottle to a Travel Mug which is super when you want to travel light on the move!

What sizes do KeepCup Helix water bottles come in?

Helix uses the same cup bases as our Commuter range, paired with a universal bottle lid. That means you may see two sets of numbers: the ounce size refers to the cup base on its own, while the millilitre size is the total bottle capacity once the bottle lid is fitted. The ml figure is the one to go by when choosing a bottle.

Choosing the right size helps you stay hydrated, whatever your day holds.

  • 420ml KeepCup Helix Water Bottle (8oz cup base) – Perfect for short trips, small bags, or switching between coffee and water.
  • 530ml KeepCup Helix Water Bottle (12oz cup base) – Ideal for on-the-go lifestyles, balancing work and daily hydration.
  • 660ml KeepCup Helix Water Bottle (16oz cup base) – Designed for long-haul users, from morning hikes to evening workouts.
  • 770ml KeepCup Helix Water Bottle (20oz cup base) – Our largest size, for full days with fewer refills.
Which KeepCup water bottle should I choose?

Three bottles, depending on how you drink.

Ora Bottle — vacuum insulated, 700ml or 950ml. Keeps water cold for up to 24 hours. Straw and flow adjuster included. For long days and fewer refills.

Helix Bottle — insulated steel base with a clear bottle lid. Splits in the middle, so it goes in the dishwasher without a bottle brush, and converts to a Travel Mug with a Commuter lid.

Helix Light Bottle — lightweight clear Tritan (50% recycled) with a stainless steel cap and silicone carry loop. Not insulated. Designed in Australia, for everyday carry.

All three are leakproof, dishwasher safe, and built from modular parts you can replace rather than bin.

Note: don’t store carbonated drinks in the steel bottles.

Can I put hot liquids in my KeepCup drink bottle?

Absolutely. KeepCup’s water bottles are designed to keep your beverages hot or cold. The vacuum-insulated stainless-steel construction of our bottles ensures that they can handle hot liquids, keeping your drinks warm for hours. However, do not store carbonated beverages in your steel water bottle.

How do I clean my KeepCup Helix water bottle?

Cleaning your stainless steel water bottle has never been easier! Thanks to the dual-opening design, simply unscrew it in the middle and place it in the dishwasher. No bottle brush needed!

We can't promise the bottle won't need a scrub, but if you regularly clean the water bottle parts separately in the dishwasher, it's unlikely. For best results remove the gaskets from time to time.

A note of caution if you like your steel water bottle pristine, we recommend handwashing it to preserve the surface finish. The water bottle lid can be disassembled into four parts for longevity and easy cleaning. For full drink bottle cleaning instructions, visit our care page.

Are KeepCup Water Bottles insulated?

It depends on which bottle you're looking at. Here's a breakdown:

Ora Bottle - Yes, fully insulated.
The Ora Bottle features vacuum insulation that keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours. It's made from 18/8 vacuum-insulated electropolished stainless steel.

Helix Bottle - Insulated Base
The base Travel Mug cup part is vacuum-insulated stainless steel. The water bottle lid is a clear single-wall premium clear plastic.

Helix Light Bottle - No, not insulated.
The Helix Light Bottle is made from clear Tritan co-polyester (50% recycled) with a plastic and stainless steel cap. It's designed to be a lightweight, clear plastic bottle, so it won't retain temperature the way the other two do.
